But the louisiana iris are flowering anyway. As well as the following I have a few more yet to open. Given a few years to form some good clumps around my pond & the dispay will be fantastic.A bonus for me is... I am the only one with them, all were bred by a very talented lady (Penny) who is also a member here (Mudlarkpottery) and were her discards
Enjoy

Hi MattA , Mate i love the irises having thousands of Bearded iris , Japanese water iris and a couple of other varieties . They are just beginning to open now .
Damian, only the second one is shortlived but the colour sure makes up for it...
Alpine, I love iris in all its forms & have quite a few types. This pair of beardies are mother & daughter, the white is from a seedpod found on the yellow, I have another seedling from the same pod but it has stubbornly refused to flower so far (3yrs old).

Hi MattA, mate i started with a clump of blue bearded irises and after splitting them up over the many years ended up with literally thousands of them . Its surprisingly they all stem from the blue /purple colour which i'm told is the original natural colour and now have many different colours from mustard to yellow , light purple , fawn to dark brown several blues . If they a neglected and left in clumps they tend to turn back to blue/purple , I don't know if its from cross pollination as many unusual colour are here in the town .With so many here i have resorted to using roundup to no avail , dig them up run over with the lawn mower and they grow in the lawn . A bit like noxious weeds here now , but I still love the array of colours when they bloom .
