FUKUZU Me.....My first White Pine.

Post by Damian Bee »

Some say it can be cured, others...say it's a hopeless cause. Me, I tend to wobble somewhere between the two extremes like jelly out of it's bowl

No. Wait, lets rephrase that in more robust terms.

Humankind in its quest to know more, strives to the outer limits of.............ah stuff it, lets face it I just couldn't say no could I?

The variety is Pinus parviflora Fukuzumi, it's a graft but we will work on that.

Until I get some time to look at it, there's not much more I can say

Hi Damien , mate i purchased 2 of these a while back . Most certainly need work on the graft but mine if grafted onto white pine , some are grafted onto black pine . I have had a little play but nothing drastic , plenty of cones on it which should be removed but i have retained them in the hope some seed may be viable . Go for it i say , anything goes .

Cheers Alpine

The rootstock is oversized in comparison to the graft, like you say, the graft will need work :reading:
