WHAT HAPPENS NOW

Post by molty75 »

hi there,
i have an azalea that has been growing in my uncles garden for 41 years, i had dug it up a little earlier than this time last year.
it has progressed very well and is very healthy, it has already flowered and now those flowers have wiltered and died off.
now my question is with the dead flowers, do i cut them off, let them fall off on their own or what ever.
please advise would be so appreciated.

regards

Cut the flowers off and cut back most of the new growth, most branches/sub branches will have three shoots which you should reduce to two wherever possible
Q: Why are we all here?
A: Because we are not all there.

You shodu have seen my demo the other week on Repotting and after flowering care :-)

Cut back each flower whorl, and new growth to only 2 leaves on each branchlet. this will promomote back budding and ramification where the branch will reshoot everywhere.

Areas of the tree that you are still developing, leave longer an remove only the old flowers.
