Juniper - was for sale, now a progression

Post by coocarch »

Not sure what style I would call this but I just can't handle the needles on junipers, too fussy for me. Selling for $50 or best offer. Pickup in Wentworthville.

Okay price has been lowered, anywhere from $40-$30 is fine, I just want to get rid of it.

Ahh the kids of today ! Softie :-)

Juniper procumbens - Nana I think.
Not much going for it, but maybe nice start for a Literati Style tree.
Lose the branch off the top ( heading to the left), wire and bend the trunk to amore upright more convincing literati style and then work with only the one foliage pad on the right.

Rather than pinch the foliage, just use Scissors to carefully cut it back works. No hurts that way, or just wear gloves. Get a pair of Riggers gloves, Tight fit and nice feel.

I haven't had good experiences with one of my last junipers. I didn't think about using pesticides to remove the mites that were eating the trunk and tried to carve it out and burn it sealed. Of course the foliage caught fire and it died because, well it had a hollow trunk. This was back when I was 14 and had very little knowledge of plants. I don't particularly like this juniper, but I have seen some great examples of them. I think you guys have a good point, I'm going to take it in a new direction instead of selling it. Thanks guys!

So updating here,
I put an airlayer on the left branch, so I'm hoping that it works and I dont waste the whole branch.
Same as the crepe myrtle, I will post pictures when I get the chance.
