Re: Matts plum, a teaser
Nice, I imagine this will get much better in the coming years. I really like the way it has been styled.
Q: Why are we all here?
A: Because we are not all there.

Looking good Paddles
It grows quickly if the food & water are kept up to it and wont take many years to become a really nice tree. Now lets hope someone will chime in with a positive ID for it.

Re: Matts plum, a teaser
I did not realise that you were looking for an ID.
I am not good at identification but the new buds and the leaves look similar to this prunis glandulosa (dwarf flowering almond) sometimes called brush cherry. Although the flowers are a little darker.

Re: Matts plum, a teaser
I thought it blireana originally, on the say of someone who supposedly knew, have been questioning it since the subject came up about 6mths ago in a convo with another grower...
It does look alot like your tree Gerard and also Jows one posted a little while back... Its nice to know for sure but I am the last to stop growing something because I dont know what it is.. thats half my fun
The offcuts from my light winter prune were potted up & look to be making a move, heres hoping some set root as well

I thought we got to the bottom of this ID a few weeks ago
