Options for Banyan Fig.

Hi All,
I have just uncovered my Banyan Fig ,it has been 2 years.Thanks to a fantastic post by Jerry Meislik.Things have gone OK,i think.It suffered a bit of dyeing off on the bottoms of the roots, and also a bit of a blow-out of roots from half way up.There was a gap in my wrapping.
It was to late to re-pot so i placed in a bucket of Seasol as i have to work tomorrow.I was after some feedback as to whether i should cut of the escapee roots. As this will show the nice bend in the overall composition.Or maybe incorporate the escapee roots to form a curtain effect .Of course any other suggestions would be welcome.

I would still use those escaped roots as the will give a larger lower trunk mass and Nebari

got it happening there mate. nice work. I think keep them. another optioin is that you could do some root selection to have a 'prison bars' effect rather than a flat curtain.

which of jerry's threads started this all off?

It would be good if you could grow it over a large flat object (dinner plate?) to get some root spread. That way it would be more impressive

I like the idea of big root spread .

Big thanks to you both.
I have included two photos of this season Fig projects.I wired some curves in some Tiger Bark cuttings,that i took last year and have grown them in some extra long pots.The roots are now showing.

Also took some Air Layers of another fig i have. Not to sure if it is a Morton Bay or a Port Jackson ? but will get something happening with them. Banyan or maybe some R.O.R.

Can you tell me what the post from Jerry M, was all about..... do you have a link to the original.
Would be good to know about the beginnings of this project and what inspired you to do what you've done.... like the last 2 pics. what is the idea of the deep pots?
