If you wish. :D
Thought you might have caught that one in Roberts book. Literati works better with different lines. The more the better acording to Robert. I think that is what gives them the simple tension.
It's too bad your in such a hurry cause the stories I could tell you, Bushels and baskets of stories, hole crates full of stories. But if you can spare a moment I will tell you one story.

The fig on the cliff in the saucer is powering on the tray has NO holes ,The fig in the bonsai pot is slower , drainage holes in pot and dries out very quick .Iwater these 2-3 times a day and power feed 1 teaspoon per fortnight . The food is good shari all right , the best year for growth i have had .Cheers

Nice one Bretts, Exactly why i replyed with if you wish. Yes, on a dominant negative space, the line is desired if it shows variation of speed. deviation of shape bring the momentum to a halt and / or then take off again. The tension and release, can be wonderfully exhillarating but for me the question must have an answer. So how these elements come together still need to have a method to the madness. A deviation of shape needs to have an explanation to be convincing in bonsai. From a purely artistic and stylistic point of view the boundaries are greater. :D 8-)
