I purchased this tree as one of 3 in a nursery closing down sale for $5 each back in may 2005. I kept this one as a informal upright with typical styling and the other 2 are in the ground to develop. I will be digging them both soon.
it was severely root bound in the pot and had more than 1/2 taken off to get it into a training pot, and then agin was reduced to fit into this round Bonsai pot
It was Pruned wired and trimmed regularly using conventional Bonsai techniques to give this result, and requires trimming constaly to maintain. The now shoots extend very rapidly
