Hi all,
I've had this tree since March of 2012, so this is just a short progression to show how far it's come since then.
Here's the tree as first purchased:
Received it's first pruning/styling in August 2012:
And here we are as of tonight. I cut the old leader away and have 3 possible branches that could become the new leader:
The cut paste is covering a spot where I removed a few branches. I really can't wait until I can start moving the growth on those two branches in closer to the trunk, but as for now I have to deal with them. Needs more growing time, but it'll get there.
Comments are always welcome.

Re: Another Willow Leaf
G'day TFG.
Nice looking beginnings of a Bonsai here.
I really like the foliage on these tree's - nice and thin.
I must get one for myself in the near future.
Out of curiosity why did you chop the old leader?
Also what style / future do you have planned?
Cheers,

One of the fabulous things about growing bonsai is as you get old and decrepit your trees get old and beautiful

Once I decided on the front, the old leader would have been in the back of the tree, so I had to bring it toward the front, which is why I got rid of it. I guess I'm shooting for a kind of upright tree with this guy.
