Interesting how he takes to the roots..
The water option is one that I like to use as well.
Seems a bit more subtle and refreshing than just raking away.
One of the fabulous things about growing bonsai is as you get old and decrepit your trees get old and beautiful

Andy Smith has a good reputation for not only is finds but also his methods & respect for the land he gets to collect from. I dont watch alot of yt but having read most of his stuff its great to see it in action. I watched #6 as this was the area I was most interested to see.
