Re: A new rock / pot
Hi Strawbs , love my hobby that's for sure .I don't think i will ever run out of ideas and challenges like Bonsai , Penjing , Ishitsuki and the likes . The next ones in the pipeline just need a little healing first . I should be out there now but "rest is best" at the moment .
Cheers Alpine

Re: A new rock / pot
A litle progression has gone on .
Cheers Alpineart
I'm glad the heat didn't kill these 2 pines , unlike some of the others they are growing well . With a mild 32 degree's i had better get back out there and fix a few more .Cheers Alpineart

Re: A new rock / pot
Hi Raewynk , thanks mate , I'd like to top it off with one more tree . I would need to modify the rock to cater for it but it would take it to a new level .

Re: A new rock / pot
Hi Mate ,I would be inclined to place it up on the peak or just below the ridge on the face . It would flow in the same direction as the other 2 tree's but being 1/2 the size of the main tree , if only i could use paint properly .Isitangus wrote:Where would your third tree be placed?

Re: A new rock / pot
As stated previously
, cos I'm more with the final result . One would think with all the tree's here i could find a suitable addition but it took some serious looking . I pre trimmed and wired it prior to adding the new tree .
Cheers . Alpineart .
, It needed another tree so i carved a new pot into the rock and sealed it with acrylic render and bondcrete. Iadded the tree this afternoon and it was rough and ready as i had visitors again . I hope it survives the rough treatment
Cheers . Alpineart .

Re: A new rock / pot
Well the new addition from last year died , so i have replaced it with another collected Yamadori tree
Cheers .Alpineart
. I checked the roots on the other 2 and didn't need root pruning . To my surprize they were easy to remove as the bowl shaped inbuilt pots and the smooth fish hasn't allowed the roots to grasp the surface .Before the addition After the new trainer was added , It a bit of a woolly mamoth but like all the pines i will get to them after they are re-potted, only a few dozen to go . Cheers .Alpineart

Re: A new rock / pot
Thats coming along nicely Alpine. The trees seem to like the pot too which is good.
