Aspen trees as bonsai

Hey guys,

Happy new year to all. I'm in Aspen, Colorado at the moment so i'm still in last year as i write this.

Being here and seeing all the beautiful birches, junipers, pines and aspens has got me thinking... Has anyone tried aspen trees as bonsai?

I think their white trunks are beautiful and they have a relatively small leaf. Would like to try and get my hands on some when i get home. Not sure how they'll do in sydney though.

Any thoughts or comments on this would be appreciated.
