Willow leaf fig

Post by Dennis »

:gday: everyone. I think this is my first post and I am looking for help. Can anyone advise where I could pick up stock trees of willow leaf fig. Living in a remote area I dont have access to clubs and exchange with fellow enthusiasts and our local garden centre is not well stocked. I was recently in Melbourne and picked up one "started" willow leaf in a bonsai pot at A-Z Bonsai, however I could not find the" Imagination Tree" nursery and it seems their structure has changed. I travel to Adelaide and Melbourne a bit but ideally would be looking for mail order/delivery as I would like a fair few trees. Look forward to hearing from you and to continued help from the Ausbonsai community.
Cheers

Hi Dennis, welcome to Ausbonsai and congratulations on your first post. I am not sure how much help I can be as I am not up on freighting trees but would hazard a guress that not many nurseries would be interested in going to the trouble. I would suggest that you visit a few nurseries in your travels and try to get to know the owners and pose your situation with them and ask for their help and see what comes up.

Which ever way - good luck with your bonsaiing future.

G'day Dennis.

Some of the stores here: https://www.ausbonsai.com.au/wiki/index. ... _Nurseries

Might help.

Beyond this you can buy established Bonsai on Ebay if you really wish.
Also check out the sales threads on this site as people on here sell and ship trees from time to time.
Check out some of the other info on the Ausbonsai Wiki pages especially the one that talks about standard nursery stock.

Cheers.

One of the fabulous things about growing bonsai is as you get old and decrepit your trees get old and beautiful
