Re: Goblin Swamp
I have seen some fantastic photos from a guy at work of this place. But alas I don't have access to them. Its a truly magical looking spot!
So the Redwood turns to the Bonsai and says "Lend me a Tenner"......

Re: Goblin Swamp
WARNING IF OFFENDED BY WOMEN IN LATEX OUTFITS READ NO FURTHER............. Ok so I remembered the name of the photographer from work and he does this as another job and this probably wont be for everyone but if you google Wayne Henry or warped photography he has some photos of the goblin swamp on there in the fantasy-fetish folder. Of course there are women in latex outfits so if you are modest, have a fear of something different or just scared of stuff don't go to the site. Everyone else should as he is a fantastic photographer.

Re: Goblin Swamp
Hi izzykay , now that is an awesome place to sit and relax , although i'm sure it would be difficult to see any "wiggle sticks" that may be lurking around in there .
Cheers Alpine

....not to mention the likelihood of contracting Ross River Virus from all the mosquitos that inhabit these areas at certain times of the year!

Re: Goblin Swamp
They're Melaleucas??!!! Now that's a natural style I really want.
If you want a better photo, maybe go on an overcast day, so the shadows aren't so sharp. Or use the flash on the camera in daylight.
Thanks for posting.

Re: Goblin Swamp
*Bump*
Sorry to bump such an old thread but wow!
What a place this must be to see in person. Had some pics come up on my facebook feed this morning so have spent the rest of it looking at some amazing pics from here. This place is definitely on my bucket list. Now I got to go check how much I can start twisting my one little Melaleuca rhaphiophylla, talk about inspiration from nature.
These two pics are from the WA PArks and wildlife site but do have a look through the google images and flickr links below for plenty more.

Re: Goblin Swamp
Thanks for the bump Starfox.
I had never seen this thread nor was I aware of this place. Very, very cool.
It is interesting (to me) the way many of our natives hug the surrounds.... creep and crawl, twist and turn. I go on about the environs of the Mornington Peninsula too much but replace the water in Goblin Swamp with sand and hilly dunes ... then walk through/climb over/climb through say the Coastal Tea Tree(Leptospermum laevigatum) or Moonah ( Melaleuca lanceolata).... water or sand - there are some similarities
.
It is very hard/impossible to emulate in bonsai ... but try we will. It is what is inspiring my entires of group planting of Moonah and Swamp Paperbark (Melaleuca ericifolia) in the current [Natural] competition.
Thanks again for the bump.
