Melaleuca Bracteata 'Revolution Gold'

This is one of my Rev Gold's, the other few are starting to develop in the ground.
Sorry, no prior shots, but the carving came about after the inital trunk chop. Unfortunately, you can't tell from photos but there is a nice curve at the base which is what drew me to this tree.
It was just general nursery stock purchased mid last year in a large nursery back, got bare-rooted and major cut back in september and is powering on. For now I will let it get its head back and see what happens down below, though I think at this stage its going to have to be ground layered as the roots were quite disappointing.

The carving is very rough for now, i'm just waiting for the tree to guide me in its direction and I apologise if the sacrifice branches distort the photos.
Any suggestions on the styling, or disagreements at the road im heading?? At this stage im seeing the apex move over to the left and swooping down a bit so as to balance the tree, will need a back branch for depth as well. Really loving working with the natives! Pup, any feedback??

It's coming along nicely Jezz. The usual advice - trim, water and fertilize and in no time you will have a good tree to pot. Pick a good Australian potter for your pot so we may encourage Australian potters to continue to make good quality pots.

Hi ya Jezz these things are a bit like C,elms and Ficus tough as. So as Watto says water fertilise and prune. My thoughts at the moment are plant at another slightly more up right angle.
The leader you have wire on appears very straight against all the gentle movement of the tree, I know it is young but that is when you teach them better to understand what you want of them.

Watto, I'm hearing you mate, and have seen some great examples of Aussie pots through Pat Kennedy and Miss Penny of Mirkwood, definitely seeing this tree in one of the following.
Thanks for the advice, Pup. At this stage I don't think the angle change would suit, not to go against your advice but if you could see the base im sure you'd agree. This has grown very strong since the trunk chop a few months ago, I do feel perhaps the new leader is a bit too far along the straightish section of trunk but we will see what happens.
Will update this tree in a few months at a more lifted position so the curves are relevant.

Love the bark on the lower trunk
