Re: Opening of the NBPCA in 2013
Thats correct. CBS postponed their meeting by a week to allow people to attend the opening of the arboritum.
So the Redwood turns to the Bonsai and says "Lend me a Tenner"......

Only time I run is when she is trying to get me inside to do the housework instead of playing with Bonsai

Actually it a Little Athletics carnival that I am helping run

Helping run may be a little of an understatement I think
Looks like I am riding the Bike Ken still looking into where the best place is to park?

Re: Opening of the NBPCA in 2013
These are the places that the busses leave from, I have been looking at the map but not sure if any are close to the park you suggest. Most seem to be in the main city but not sure which one would be best?
FREE ACTION buses labelled Arboretum Shuttle will depart regularly from the:
•bus stop at western entry to Canberra Stadium, corner of Battye and Masterman Streets, Bruce.
•City Bus Station, rear of Platform 3.
•bus stop at the Waldorf Apartments, 221 London Circuit, Civic.
•bus stop at the front of the Federal Department of Treasury building, western side of Langton Crescent, Parkes.
•Woden Bus Station, Platform 10.
•Stromlo Forest Park, Uriarra Road, Stromlo.
•How often will the shuttle buses run?
The free shuttle buses will depart for the opening festival at regular intervals (approximately 30 minutes) from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm on Saturday 2 February 2013. The last shuttle bus services from the Arboretum back to the six pick-up/drop-off locations will leave the Arboretum at 3.30 pm.
•Is there public parking on site?
No. To ensure the safety of visitors, protection of the Arboretum’s forests, easy access for buses and emergency vehicles, and to minimise traffic queuing on Tuggeranong Parkway, no public parking will be permitted on site during the event.
Vehicles displaying a current disability parking permit, as well as event organisers and volunteers will be permitted to park on site in the car park adjacent to the Village Centre.
•Where is the nearest public parking for the opening festival?
There is very limited public parking available near the Arboretum. The six shuttle pick-up/drop-off locations have been selected due to their proximity to public parking areas.
No parking on the verges of roads surrounding the National Arboretum Canberra will be permitted.

Re: Opening of the NBPCA in 2013
Only 1 more sleep!
I'm heading down on the bus organised by The Bonsai Society of Australia. No parking problems for me
$35 from North Rocks to the NBPCA doors and return - morning tea included! I believe there are still a couple of seats spare...
Weather prediction is 8 to 22 with morning showers. Hopefully it dries out
Regards,
Steven

I'm going from the parkes bus stop as its minutes from my house and parking will be free, the city stop may mean you have to pay for parking until 12:00 on sat.
