the second photo was taken after i gave it a haircut and tidied it up a bit. has a large number of aerial roots sprouting lately. im selectivly removing the ones i dont want as they shoot out.

i should also mention that this fig was collected from the fork of a tree in my front yard about 2 years ago. most likely started as a bird dropping.

Cool progression Owieo86! It's shot up heaps!!
I'm slowly finding that the best strategy with these little guys is to put em up in a bigger pot for awhile, until you're happy with the trunk size, and then start moving into smaller pots whilst working ramification, and then leaf size when its in your selection of awesome bonsai pot.
I'd definitely re-pot him/her now...

yeah qitian this is the process I'm going with atm. my soil is mostly dl and diatomite with a bit of general purpose putting mix. I'm quite happy with results at present. the pics above don't show the sacrifice branch to the rear of the tree. when I get around to repotting it I will be tidying up the roots and bringing them in closer to the rock in which tree was planted into. ill also be removing the two large roots (if possible) at soil height, in the hopes of a better looking root spread
