[white.sakura] Shimpaku
Shimpaku bought from a Bonsai Society of Queensland show a couple of years ago, can't remember the price. The top was air-layered off, otherwise untouched.

Re: [white.sakura] Shimpaku
Unfortunately not much done on this one apart from a light trim and a closer look at what's hiding in the pot.

Re: [white.sakura] Shimpaku
I'm not quite sure what I'm planning with this which is why he's always left to last and I always run out of time!
So once again he looks the same..
He will be first on the list next time, I will have to make my mind up what to do with him.

Not much refinement in a year
Only have a few months to "finish" it

Re: [white.sakura] Shimpaku
Not that I expect to be winning any prizes with the Shimpaku with the amount of work done (or not done) on it, but I'm happy to say it has progressed.
I didn't get a chance yet to wire the remaining branches after doing the main bend (about mid Octoboer), but it will get done.
Unfortunately that also makes it hard to see in the photo what's going on, as even with fewer branches he's still so green and bushy!
So the outcome so far is the start of a cascade, and future plans are to wire the rest of the branches, finish off the jins, and make the cascade bend more acute.
He also needs a repot but I missed the window for that, so that will be done next year.
