It's too bad your in such a hurry cause the stories I could tell you, Bushels and baskets of stories, hole crates full of stories. But if you can spare a moment I will tell you one story.

Well I think if I stand back and look at my trees nothing will happen
I'll learn if I work them wether it be good or bad .
No this is the only tree he had left ... Don't worry my trees get great care
I think that is a plus when working them ...not just chop cut then forget to water and feed Or leave them in the sun to fry.
And then they die and people wonder why .... Can't take all and not give nothing back to the tree .
Yes tree is covered in lykin nice affect I think
This tree is very healthy a credit to its previous owner heaps and heaps of buds
And the leaves were piled three thick on top of each other

It's all good Meagi, when you just stand back and look, what is happening is learning. Just watching the trees is a big part of it. If you listen hard enough they will tell you exactly what you need to know.
But of course you also need some hands on, I just would have picked another at the moment. But I am sure all will be well especially since you done such a good job.

Big bugs has powered through the heat for the last couple of seasons. I would say there are some very good roots under the soil. If I was to defoliate this one I think it would be best to do it before I repot. If I don't repot next year I might try it then but I think a repot and maybe a new pot is the plan for next season.
I know what will go in this pot but will be scratching my head on a new pot for this one
But of course you also need some hands on, I just would have picked another at the moment. But I am sure all will be well especially since you done such a good job.

Hi Brett
My hornbeam is slowly leafing back after defoliation sulked a bit but got over it
Some leafs came back small some bigger I think to high a fert
How are your Hornbeams making out in this heat !

If you lose the dropping branch you lose half that side, and it loses its centre of gravity, so to speak.
My only quibble would be, could you funk up the second lowest branch on the right, to relate to the branch below it? Otherwise a very fine tree, lively in every inch.
