I drive by these trees occasionally and since I've always really liked white smooth trunks, I'd like to know what they are. I finally stopped and took some photos today. This is probably easy for you Aussies that live around these, but I haven't been able to figure it out yet. Thanks!

Re: [ID] - Eucalyptus, but what kind?
Nevermind guys, I think I solved it. It's not a eucalyptus (anymore), renamed in the 90s to Corymbia papuana instead of Eucalyptus papuana. Commonly known as ghost gum.
Let me know if I'm wrong, but I did find info about these being grown here so I'm pretty sure that's it. Now, anybody tried making bonsai out of these?

Yeah, would say you are right, looks like a Corymbia aparrerinja
Not sure how they go as bonsai, am planning on trying myself when I'm able

Cool, let me know how it goes. I've got too many projects at the moment to grab one and give it a go, but maybe next year.Jason wrote:Yeah, would say you are right, looks like a Corymbia aparrerinja
