Just to re-iterate on the importance of wiring, thought id share my
with a small Willow Leaf Fig.
I know its not the normal styling for a Fig, but when I saw this little guy I thought it was a good opportunity to buy a tree for my 'better' half to get her slightly interested and perhaps take the heat off my tree addiction. She liked it becuse 'it looks like a tree' though she still tries not to admit it. Oh and apart from the wiring job, i'm not allowed to hack, snip, or cut it....
I'm working on it, needs a bit of a trim, but i'll wait til spring to defoliate and rewire. Also hoping for the low branch to extend to use as a sacrifice, otherwise it will be a long time before it looks anywhere near presentable.
Anyway, here it is. Without a defoliation and wiring job it would have been a few more years to start looking this way. So we're both happy on the outcome, just needs some refining..in particular, an apex! Oh and yeah, needs to be tilted back upright at next repot. Not sure when it started to lean but when I repotted this nursery grown fella there was 2 big tubers going off in a horseshoe direction so was cut flat almost like a cutting
