Air layering

Post by Damian79 »

Hi guys,
Can someone tell me (or post a link) how long does it take for roots to develop on an air layer?

Thanks in advance
Damian

How long is a piece of string ? :lost: Depends on the type of tree and what season it is. I can do a fig in 3 weeks if it is humid or I have had celtis take 3 months and have to be scraped back several times. Faster in summer obviously :tu:

What type of tree are you doing ? It may be getting a bit too late in the year, especially if it's a deciduous tree. You may have to wait until after Winter. If you have already done it I usually check them after a month to make sure it hasn't bridged the gap and is putting out roots.
