thanks, i tried them the other day but no response - which was a shame cos they are probably the cheapest i have found as well.
they say they are on ebay and gumtree but cant find them through there either so i assume they are no longer around.

Forget masakuni there is better available for a more reasonable price. Many including me have found their steel too brittle.
It's too bad your in such a hurry cause the stories I could tell you, Bushels and baskets of stories, hole crates full of stories. But if you can spare a moment I will tell you one story.

Hate to hijack a thread - but I've been looking at Kaneshin tools, besides making every single tool in every single size they seem a bit more readily available and realistically priced.
Thoughts?

I have been using Kaneshin since I started in Bonsai never had a problem. I have also used Joshua Roth they are good but expensive.
Unless you win them :palm:

I have both used, for the past 30 odd years, and sold Kaneshin tools, for around 10 years when I had my nursery, both stainless and carbon steel types. In all that time I have broken 2 branch cutters and one pair of scissors. I have had a few different tools "borrowed" by people, who thought they needed them more than I did, I reckon thats a pretty good guage of a tools worth most times. For the price I don't think you could go past Kaneshin, especially their Stainless line.

I remember using someones Masakuni scissors at a Workshop once and wasn't that impressed with the feel of them.Nice steel and easy to clean though.
