Thanks for all the nice comments. Yes Paul that one is an Oval. I had a tree planned for that pot but so far it has not made it into it

Hi Brett
Just want to say Thanks mate. You have inspired me to have a crack at making my own pots. The way I see it is I'm starting at the beginning with bonsai so I might as well take on the pot side of bonsai as well. There is a local Potter that I'm meeting on the weekend to point me in the right direction. So hopefully my next post on this subject will be for my first efforts :fc: .
Can you offer and advice to help get me started?
Thanks
Damian

Hi Damien
I am spoilt rotten and have the use of a club kiln and glazes and clay supplies. If you could find a way to get some sought of deal with your local potter then that would be a big jump forward.
Other than that hunt through Utube for lots of advice. Get some books from the library. Bonsai pottery is some what unique to other pottery in some of the techniques so it is a good idea to look at the specific way others make their pots.
Have a look at Horst on face book he is giving a few hints away.

I will do a tutorial on doing a simple pot called the quick and easy pot pictured above. That will give endeavouring potters somewhere to start.

A bit of a reptile theme happening Brett's. the glaze looks like croc and snake skin up close.

Hi Brett
Do you sell your pots? Or are they for your own collection?
