Fig repotting crisis

Post by Ficusboy101 »

Well I need help because 6 months ago I had a really fast growing fig but I wanted a better shape and it to be thicker so I cut it back to no branches just the trunk and repotted it then in less than a week a branch struck it is 5cm and then from there it stopped growing its still green but it hasn't grown for the past 2 months
And is there any fertiliser that is better then
Osmocote
That is easy to find

If you wanted it to thicken you should have left all the branches on - or if you wanted the base to fatten a low sacrifice branch. Cutting all the branches off will only slow down the growth. Feed it with heaps of pelletized chook poo (DL) and lots of water and sunlight.

Ditto Ditto NT your climate is made for Ficus. Just heed the advice if you want thick leave foliage.
