Hey Ficusboy,

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but if you bought it cheap, you probably paid a fair price for it. Unless of course there's something there that I can't see in the small photo . . . . Personally, I'd not pay more than AUD 20 for something like that, but then trees seem cheaper in South Africa.

Cheers,

Andrew

It doesn't look that old. Also it's not a great specimen. Pick a different tree.

good nebrari
Where is this good nebari? All I see is a random assortment of roots.
May be over 20 years of age but anyone can neglect a tree for many years. Actual age is less important. How it looks matters much more.

Andrew may be being a little pessimistic (or South African?) in his valuation. No decent size reference but I'm assuming it is a decent size - My estimate $30-$50.

It would struggle to be that old in the NT growing conditions for Ficus are just about perfect.

As for what its worth is as has been said subjective. Not being a fan of F,benjamina $10-00 , it has two heads neither, is 20 years worth of work.

The late great JohnY Naka said of two heads cut one off.

Just my :2c:
