SEASOL Vs Charlie Carp

Hi can anyone tell me the differance between the white bottle and the Green bootle of Seasol


Also which is better Charlie Carp or Seasol.

The green bottle is Powerfeed which is a fertiliser not a tonic. Charlie Carp is techinically a fertiliser but it has low levels of NPK. I would probably use Seasol more frequently than Charlie Carp (which I don't use)

Seasol is used for re-potting and establishing the roots in newly planted trees. Charlie Carp is a fertilizer that can be used regularly with great results in the growing season. We all know that a nely potted tree should not be fertilized for about 3 to 4 weeks after re-potting ( slow release pellets in the soil mix are a exemption to the rule ) in that 3 to 4 week period seasol is recommended to heal and establish the newly planted tree.

We are taught to use both on our trees but seasol only on newly potted trees or dunk the whole root base of the tree in seasol before repotting for a couple of hours before re-potting.

Seasol is also recommended when trees are taken from the ground to be potted up as it helps reduce shock to the tree helping roots recover.

OK the only way I can elaborate further is to say Seasol is a tonic and not a fertiliser. As mentioned you can use it on re potted plants and can use it weekly if you like.

Hi Meagi, Seasol is a tonic/conditioner (It is just crushed seaweed - nothing else). It keeps the cell walls and roots of the plant nice and strong and vigorous. Essentially , though you are not feeding your plants with this stuff. Yes, this is the stuff in the white bottle. The stuff in the green bottle is the "Seasol Brand" Powerfeed. It has liquid fertiliseer in it (although it would be a relatively light dose) , as well as Seasol. In other words, you can use this to feed established plants as well as condition and tone them at the same time. They are both great products. Hope this explains it.

As for which is best? Well Charlie Carp is definately the best for feeding plants and Seasol is definately the best for reducing plant stress. Sorry Meagi, couldn't help myself, really.

Just don't mix seasol and fish emulsion (Charlie carp) unless you want to look and smell like a giant rotten fish cappuccino
Well it's not quite that bad but the two do make a lot of fuss when mixed together
