Kanuma sources

Post by MattA »

I am preparing to repot a Camellia & also dig another from the ground now it's development is well underway, I would like to move them both into kanuma as my other one is but am running low on supplies, does anyone know of a source for kanuma in sydney or on the coast heading north?

I've got a pallet of it in Canberra, small and medium.

I could have sent it up with one of the convention attendees.

If you know anyone that is making a trip from Canberra to Sydney/hunter I'll gladly liaise with them.

Scott.

P.S. $25 per bag

Damian,
Lack of experience of it as a medium. I got a bag of kanuma off Steven a couple of years ago to trial on my lone (at that time)Camellia, the health & vigour it has gained since swapping medium has allowed me to push it to new levels. My mentors tree has some issues that I am hoping this change will help rectify so it can eventually return to his garden. I know you have a love of azalea so am all ears if you have any suggestions for soil mix. :tu2:
Ps. my tree is in kanuma (80:20) 2-5mm basalt chip, the mix prepared for use this weekend is kanuma (70:30) 2-4mm river gravel 50:50 quartz chip.

Scott,
Thanks, I should have posted last week, he was in Canberra for the convention & could have carried it home yesterday, we discussed a new pot & the medium change I was just a bit slack following things up around home to make sure I had enough. Will pm you when I work out which way I go with the rest (see above).
