get yourself a stihl, they sell the mini-boss reasonably cheap now and it will last you ten times a Ryobi. I worked as a landscaper for years and I learnt very quickly that good gear pays for itself, most of my gear is 4 stroke Honda powered and those little engines are an engineering masterpiece but for chainsaws and hedge trimmers im using Stihl because they haven't shari themselves yet, but when they do ill be going Honda powered for them too.

and those Olives are sensational id love to get my hands on some material like that.

You are probably right. At the time I was not cash flush, so just got the cheapest on offer. The one I bought is half the price of the smallest Stihl here (the 170). You are right about the Stihl probably lasting longer. The one bonus of the Ryobi is that the saw does not have a back handle. This makes cutting in a hole a LOT easier. Much less digging. That said, I believe in some parts of the world they are illegal for use on the ground as they are far more dangerous than back handle saws.

#4 and #6 are lovely Neli - the rest I'm personally not crazy about. Food for thought indeed.

Well, in spirit of the title of this post - This weekend we had a small get together of a group of like-minded individuals to work on bonsai. I managed to slime this tree from Brett who was lost for what to do with it (as was I when he dug it!!). Here's the before picture . . . . . after pic to follow later . . . . . ho hum . . . . . . what to do????

Guys locally are having great success rooting very thick olive cuttings, so it would have grown, but I'm afraid it just is not good enough for the space I have available. Just wish I had more grow bed space!

Anrew! It was going to make a nice shohin! I have also good success with cuttings of most kind with diameter up to 25cm.
