Sheflera progression.

Here are my shefleras...from my garden...
The roots had gone down to the ground:

It was impossible to untangle the roots...All what you see is fused roots. I dont know how I will manage to separate them...maybe to cut wedges, since when I tried to separate a roots they pill off and part of the bark remains behind. Any advise?

Hi Neli . mate i employ a method i use called 'Simple slip potting' , a topic i have posted here on the forum would work in this case . Simply slice down from the top with a sharp knife in 4-6-8 places depending on the size of the root mass and fold out as much as possible from underneath . This will spread the root mass out , tangled or not , A larger container may be required as the unfold root mass spreads out considerably .

A large box or cut down a big pot to accommodate to root mass . Leave it potted in the larger container for a season or two and new roots grow , then begin to thin them out over another season or two . In the tropics it may only require 1 season between re-pot and root prune . Hope this helps .

thanks! It is not tangled...it is fused...any root I attempted to remove half remained behind glued to the other roots. Since they are fused, I thought if I cut wedges like on azalia???? first two or 3...and later more...till I remove all that huge lamp...and replace it with roots.
Look at the picture of the roots ball, the white line you see is a root I tried to separate...half the root remained behind.

Hi Neli , in that case , wedges cut into the fused base would be your best option . Please post your progressions as you make them .

Thanks, I shall do that in spring...first shorten the height of the root ball with the saw and then cut off wedges.
