• Species name: Grewia (Lavendar Star)
• Original height of stock: 17cm
• Where you obtained it from: Front Yard
• Cost of stock: $0
One of my Lavendar Star bushes got attacked by grubs and had a lot of wood rot. I cut it right back at the end of October and cleaned out all the rotten wood. The remaining stump that survived had two trunks so I have removed from the garden and cut the stump into two. I have planted into a bonsai pot today but other then cutting the roots to make it fit and removing excess branches no work has been done.

Re: [Shinkitai] Grewia (Lavendar Star) 1
My main focus when digging this was the larger trunk ([Shinkitai] Grewia (Lavendar Star) 2) but I can see a lot of potential in this smaller trunk which I originally thought I would cut off and discard.

Doing the update on this one. Not looking good would normally declare dead but will wait until spring to see if it shoots, not holding out much hope though.

Thanks for the update and sorry for your loss. It is educational for me. Have several grewias to transplant
