I'm looking for some shared successful experiences on timing for big bends and creating live veins on your Junipers. Whilst I've had successful experiences with this, I was just wanting to see what works for everyone else, especially from the more experienced members on here

In particular : reducing a Juniper's live vein size by 50-70% - when do you find the best time to do this is? when the sap is flowing @ max capacity? (mid summer).
- Do you perform it in stages? that is, every few weeks you reduce it by 10-15%? (I've seen Kimura use this technique on a YEW in one of his books).
- Have you performed significant live vein reductions in combination with other significant work? such as big bends / re-potting? if so, how successful was it? or do you leave a recovery period between this type of work?
Any info and shared experiences would be most appreciated

Cheers,
Dave.
