strangest place you have collected??

Discussions about propagating from cuttings, seeds, air layers etc. Going on a dig (Yamadori) or thinking of importing? Discuss how, when and where here.

It's always the weeds I seem to take pity on lately :lost:

ive had a couple of little plants grow in the back of my ute, the grooves in the tray can hold about half an inch of soil and in summer I get all sorts of weeds growing in the back. one of my mates jokingly said I should plant a bonsai in the back and take it with me everywhere I go... I think it could be a good way of creating a natural windswept bonsai now that I think about it

Hi Paul,
I was away on holidays one time when I found three nice little Queenland figs growing out of the top of a fence post. Collected them and scraped up some dirt to keep them alive. I also collected some more dirt from the area, went down to a nursery and bought some pots. Planted them up and carted them all round the place for the rest of the holidays. This was many years ago and they are still alive. :aussie: :tu2:

Hi Damian,
I was a research and development engineer and have been responsible for inventing and designing equipment that is used in many countries around the world. My wife has put up with me for the last 43 years. She just looks at me and knows I am thinking up some kind of scheme. I think she has got so used to it that nothing surprises her anymore. :palm: :shake:
