Euryops Pectinatus

Alpine, how well do they transplant? and grow in pots? Any hints/tips? I'm collecting a beauty tomorrow and feel uneasy, I know nothing about Daisy's.

Hi Anja , mine were collected after the council dug them out with a Bobcat . I simply threw them into some pots , boxes , with garden soil mix not good bonsai mix and placed in the shade .Most have shot apart from the one i potted into a bonsai bowl .I had doubts on this one as it had no feeder roots but it is still green .Will post some pics over the next day or so .Cheers Alpine

A quick chop and into a bonsai pot .No root pruning was necessary however i did comb them to spread and improve the narebri

Out of time today , just clicked a pic of these .I trimmed them last week now i need to repot them , that's a job for tomorrow

. Plenty of great live veins in this lot , all the other's in bonsai pots were too neglected and have since died

Well i had nothing better to do on a 40 degree day so i ripped these out of the rotting boxes they were planted in and potted them up.

the live veins are bloody rippers and i will look after these from now on . The bigger trunk is around 120mmat the base . I will keep these under control pinching regularly and the deadwood although it solid i will use some wood hardener to preserve it . They survived quite well considering the neglect and flowered profusely , with a bit of care they should come up to bonsai standards . The rest of them have little character or deadwood but considering their age i will pot them up and worst case scenario i can create live veins if required .

As requested an update on these two . One has been pinched more than the other and a little wiring wouldn't go astray ,

They require monitoring as the get leggy and untidy very quick . One is about to flower on a shoot that wasn't pinched early enough , so there will be another update as they bloom .

Well its the day of the local show and i decided i need a couple of more entries . These were re-potted out of the old blend and into some new fresh mix , bloody curl grubs again in the larger specimen, but no major root damage .A complete change of thinking has gone on and transformed these into the new look daisies

.Mind you i haven't looked after these i was prodded by a member of our club to do something for the show with them a couple of days ago so i threw them together last night

, just before retiring . Both need fine tuning but its another display or entry into the show .

Hi Dario , mate it was good to see these Euryops in their glory . I have 4 left from the original collected bunch and all are growing well . Both these were slip-potted Friday afternoon /night in readiness for the show .
A member of our club left a few tree's here for the show on Thursday and insisted i at least trim and tidy these up for an exhibit as i didn't have much to show . All my entries were tidied up in the few days prior to displaying . Rush job that paid off . The old saying , Put the foot work to get the result .

I still have 2 arms 2 feet and a heart beat , battling with pains but i'm getting used to it .
