I would appreciate any advice on what is the best way to progress with the Ash on the attached pic.
My question is how best to thicken the mid section of the trunk
The base of the trunk is approx 55mm diameter which is OK but the problem is the sudden taper down to 25mm after the bark section of the trunk .

The pic shows a red line where I think the trunk needs to be cut to keep the height in proportion with the trunk base.
To thicken up the mid trunk I am not sure if I should make the cut now to get the shape happening or let the tree grow as it is and cut some time later.
