I missed this. Going by the photos, I think you have addressed the problem elegantly.

But I am nervous about such shallow pots -- I hope this Summer will not be harsh. I lost several trees in the last one.

Hi Daiviet . mate the tray is 500mm in diameter and 50mm deep . The soil is 100mm at the trunk so i think it will survive another season .I might just throw some more scoria blend on top and probe it in will elevating the tree another 20mm just to be safe . I contemplated it today , but got side tracked on other jobs .

This tree like everything else around here didn't get a re-pot this year and as usual all will be covered with shade sails so they seem to like the area just not the radiant heat that comes up the street and through the yard .

Hi NathanM , mate i could attempt to layer to top off however the tooth pick method didn't work on the layered section so its not worth the risk . Can't have it all perfectly , would be nice just not possible .

Hi Boics , thanks mate , but i'm definately not back to where i was , i think i have really fallen behind in a lot of area's , i'm still trying , my wife recon's i really trying

Hi Beano , if possible get a purple leaf variety , much better colour flower and foliage -leaf/branches wise all year round . When i picked this up from the owner i spotted the graft and was hoping it was a better variety to the one it is . Still not bad for nothing , who's complaining .

Mate, I wouldn't even bother anyway It is nice how it is. How many of us can say we have "perfect" trees??

Hi NathanM , mate its the graft union now the base that appeals to me moreso than the rest , but it will catch up and become something unique .Cant wait to uncover the Narebri next winter , should be worthy a good look .

It looks fine in my yard at the moment , might part with it one day in the future . Cheers Alpine

This took a hiding from flying debris during a storm a while back . It has been hit twice knocking the apex and branches off on both occasions .
