Yes I agree. I hold a lot of online conferences for my company for this reason. (another one early tomorrow morning *yawn*) 10 emails over 1 week can be compressed into a quick 1 hour session. It also gives my colleagues and associates a chance to laugh at my aussie accent.

Steven: Perhaps you could look at hosting some online LIVE sessions in AusBonsai. An "AusBonsai LIVE event presented by Blah Blah". Get an expert into a room with forum members submitting some questions beforehand. As a moderator someone can compile the questions and read them to the live expert who in turn replies.

I host some of these sessions for my company. We call them "Ask an Expert" and each event has a topic. IE, creating designs for terry towelling (i work in the textile industry for a software development company).

Attendees love them. As noted above attendees submit questions before the event and we pick the best (not easy!!!) to ask the expert. We like to drill our experts. After all, they're experts Then we 'open the mic' and allow attending to bounce back new questions. A lot of fun

There's also a feeling that many of the bonsai professionals and non-professional but highly experienced bonsai enthusiasts whom I know, mention... that there are a lot of people on forums who have a lot to say but little to show; i.e. people who vacuum up information from all over the internet and then repeat it at every opportunity, whether it's good, bad or even appropriate. Sometimes they even get others to listen to them. I suspect that's how bonsai myths are started and perpetuated, much like urban legends and chain letters.

I see that the information posted here, that was vacuumed up, in fact has been proven in this case.
There are three examples posted in this thread alone.

hi everyone
can someone please kindly update the progress of the black pine (the one with low sacrifice branches and loads of fine root) on the first page posted by bretts. i know it's been a while but i am very keen to see what the tree look like now.
