Azalea ID anyone?

Post by Ces »

Hey Guys,

I wondered if anyone could help me ID this Azalea variety. Its a landscape Azalea but is very vigorous and the leaves reduced quite well. I'm still building structure in the apex of this tree, so I only left 2-3 flowers near the base of the tree so I could see what colour the flowers were. No tag when I picked it up.

anyway appreciate any help with it everyone.

Hi Ces,

I am almost certain that that is a Dogwood Red Azalea. I have one and they are pretty hardy in full sun and flower beautifully... :tu:
Just checked out the tag on mine for you...
It says:

(Hybrid)
Medium evergreen shrub with single red flowers. Spot flowers in Autumn and mass flowers in Spring. Prune and fertilise after flowering.
(Full Sun Tolerant)

Hope this helps. I'd just do a google search for the fine details...

Thanks Gav. I'll have research when I get home.
