Atlantic Cedar development

Post by cre8ivbonsai »

This is one of a pair of trees that have been posted before:
viewtopic.php?f=23&t=10713&hilit
viewtopic.php?f=25&t=11684&start=0&hilit
In summary, both were purchased up at Bodhidharma more than 18 months ago. Then both accompanied me to a workshop with Craig Wilson, and have since had gradual work done to confirm their styling direction.

With time for an update I felt it appropriate to give them each their own thread, so here we go ...

Continuing with the slanting style this tree has now found it's new home in a Lorraine Simpson crescent style pot ...

Yeah, I know (and this tree doesn't take a good photo either), but I thought I might as well enjoy working on it in a nice pot ;)

No worries Damian, as above mate ;) She's a local Victorian ceramicist who makes beautiful handmade bonsai pots in a fairly unique style. :aussie:

I have just a few  viewtopic.php?f=45&t=9525&hilit=+Lorraine plus a few more :palm: :P

2 YEARLY UPDATE  :palm: : Pinched out all the old needles on Sunday. Got cracking with wiring up tonight ...
Looks like this one's gone from 'slanting' to 'semi-cascade' ... hard to see 3D in 2D but here goes ...

Good work so far mate. Keep at it like this every two years and you'll have an absolute stunner.

Thanks Mo

Yeah, I think A. Cedars are one of my preferred trees to wire up because they are just so flexible :tu:

Conversely, they also take a very long time to set and often require a few re-wirings to get them to stay put!

Still, lets the creativity run wild. :)
