Cool TFG.
Looking forward to seeing how the base goes with throwing roots...!
In answer to my earlier question the last line would indicate that your process may indeed result in an head start upon what is IMO a more palatable tree.
Keep me posted on your progress please!

One of the fabulous things about growing bonsai is as you get old and decrepit your trees get old and beautiful

Incredible the speed of which things grow for you TFG.
I checked some month or so old Ficus cuttings yesterday out of pure frustration...
Still green and healthy and not a root to be seen!

Re: Trying to save a mallsai....
Just a thought. Maybe you should have taken it back to the store and asked if it was meant to have roots???? at this time of year

The more I learn, the less i feel I know

They would probably just tell you that pulling it up to see the roots had voided any guarantee so no returns or exchanges anyway. Glad it's pulling through for you TFG.philf555 wrote:Just a thought. Great! I hope mine works out. Here's mine. I took that the leaves hasn't died as a good sign, just have to wait and see if some new ones sprout:
