Just thought i would share a selection of the radiatas i collected last week. All the buds are still pointing at the sky so my hopes are high!Sorry about the quality of some of the images

Notice the dead wood

I also have a fair few straight boring ones that I will bend up next year if they survive, but these are the better ones.

Just from the pictures Jarrod, the first two ones are certainly
interesting and challenging... I do not have any success in back-budding
radiata on such as long stems. I am not sure if you would seek advice from
other more experienced members?

The one on the second row is still young? I guess you would have a fun time
with this?

I like the last two best. You should have little problems in turning the
last one in a nice bonsai

I have successfully grow radiatas from cuttings a lot of times before.
After a week and they are still like this, I think they will survive.

I collected a lot of radiatas a few years back, there were some real nice specimens amongst them, some of them were collected bare root out of gravel substrate and I thought they never would have survived but they did, I potted pruned and wired them to my hearts content and they didn't seem to mind at all, now they had me thinking that they were the hardiest of trees that could take anything a Bonsai enthusiast could throw at them, that was until we experienced the Summer of week long 43 degree days, one by one they keeled over in the hot Summer sun but they didn't just die, they tormented me for weeks by staying green in some areas and giving me hope that they would recover only to finally snuff out, that was it for me with pines, I never recovered just like the trees didn't, I only have one pine now a Mugo and thats not looking real flash either, I just don't seem to have any luck with them.

Nothing I wouldn't spend on any other tree I own!
