The Toowoomba Bonsai group have finally packed up for another year. We had a terrific number of visitors over the last three days. It coincides with the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers so there were plenty of potential visitors. incere thanks to the Bimer Bonsai clubs for travelling up ad supporting us for today. It was very much appreciated.
When I have the chance I'll download the photos and the president's best in show and people's choice winners.
Cheers t you all.

Photos coming now.
Just to mention that this year was the Toowoomba Bonsai Group's 35 year anniversary, so this is no small feat!

Re: Toowoomba Bonsai Group Annual Show
Thanks to all the group members for a great pull together - many hands do make light work. For those out there who know us..... wonderful job Ed as the chief organiser for overall placements and tree settings and thanks Craig for the extra highlights around the room. also thansk to all the others who worked tirelessly over the three days. Also sorry to hear that Betty was too unwell to attend. Her trees have always been a highlight over the years.
Thanks again to the Bimer members who took the time to 'come up the hill' to support us. It was great hosting your visit! If anyone else has photos of other trees I missed, feel free to upload.
Till next year!
Stew

Good show Stewart, thanks for posting. The Calli was graceful, the leaves on the banksia were amazingly small, and you're right, the privet group was magic out of nothing!
Well done. Beers all round.

Thanks for taking the time to post everyone
Yes Jason, i have learnt to get in early at the sales table - forget the trees for the first few hours and have a good loook at what's on offer. We have several members that are very happy to get things started and then sell them on for a very reasonable price. I got four trees all for under 50 bucks!
Gavin, i was speaking to the owner of the calli and she has grown it from a about a 10mm diameter seedling and is now over 20 yrs old. It does throws branches at time and the negative space on the mid left hand side did have a branch there several years ago but alas not now.
