Some rocks a slab and a tree

Hi Guys

Had an afternoon to do some work and our last club meeting was about Penjing so....

This is what i started off with.. Some of the rocks(clinker)had been flat cut with a grinder.

This is what i ended up with. The tree is a Galpinia traansvalica. I love this little tree but it was not much on its own so that is why i decided to plant it up.
Slab is hand made from Caesars stone by myself....
The leaves go a very bright red in Autum and really looks cool.

That's a top effect on the slab. Looks awesome. Really sets the tree off well. I like the angle of the tree to. It kind of brings the rest into it.

He may mean caesar stone which is manufactured stone used for benchtops

Caesars stone is an engineered stone. I have a granite company and most of our tops are now this material. I use the off cuts to make slabs for plantings. Not as easy as it looks. The slabs are 20mm thick and works down from the top and bottom to create a lip for planting in and feet at the bottom. Huge amounts of dust but well worth it. Most granite manufactures will have off cuts that you could ask them for. The hard part is grinding it down to shape.
