Re: [bodhidharma] Buxus sempervirens
I spent the day wiring the group out and gave it a good prune in readiness for Spring. My only regret with this group is that Box are SSLLOOWWW but i think it will be a beautiful setting in time. The trees have a lot of age and now has most branching and even some secondary's. I think a pot change to a colour will be beneficial next Spring to enhance the trunk colour.

Great start to the group, i particularly like the 'back' view, I think its the movement in the large tree on the left that draws me in

Jeremy

Mate this is ledgendary. It is a great composition. Could you put something next to so we can get an idea of trunk size. The 2 on the right look really chunky. I really need to do a trip up your way to have a look at some of your trees. Well done. I have several box and wasn't sure which way to go but this has given me great ideas. Just have to reduce them from 600mm high to a useable height
Josh.

Thanks Jezz, I am working hard to get this group looking good from all angles.jezz_39 wrote:Great start to the group, i particularly like the 'back' view, I think its the movement in the large tree on the left that draws me in![]()
Yes, it could happen. In fact i might have to lower the group to get it to 250mm. I would also like to bring the two right hand trees closer together and move the whole composition to the right in a larger pot. I would like it to have a more open feeling instead of it being shoe horned into the pot.Guy wrote: excellent--any plans to plant the three group a little deeper(lower)
No problem Josh and yes, they are chunky. leading me to the previous comment of creating a little more space.Josh wrote:Could you put something next to so we can get an idea of trunk size. The 2 on the right look really chunky.

The group has been repotted into a nicer pot to enhance the white trunks. Wired out again and slightly moved closer together. It is now busting out in new growth and i have hope for its future. So much so that i knocked back a offer of 400 bucks for it.

Love the new pot. Really sets it off. It's taking shape nicely. This is going to be stunning.

The group is starting to fill out nicely and constant pinching is taking effect on foliage density. I have knocked back an offer on this group until the comps end.

Re: [bodhidharma] Buxus sempervirens
As this setting starts to slow down and start its Autumn change all that has really happened is that i weeded it for the photo
I have lots of new secondary and tertiary branching that is not ready for wiring. I will bite the bullet next spring and defoliate and wire this group out. I was nearly going to do it now and Winter it out in my glass house with a little bit of heating until i realised first prize was not a million dollars.

Re: [bodhidharma] (WITHDRAWN) Buxus sempervirens
This group has come a long way but i would not be able to get it under the required height for another few years, SO, this guy is withdrawn.
