What species of plant is this ?

I was windering if anyone knew what kind of plant this is and if it is suitible for bonsai.

hey mate

it looks like a Crassula ovata, they can be used as bonsai do a quick google image search and you will find some nice examples.
I have read a lot of discussion about whether or not succulents are "proper" bonsai. that does not mean they aren't!
in saying that i havent seen one in a show

but i say go for it there very very tuff, don't mind if they dry out, take very well to defoliation, readily back bud and can slaughter the roots!!
i think they make great bonsai

Looks like a variety of Crassula Ovata I think

Not the 'best' for bonsai, as they have a larger leaf, but can definately be done. Thats all I've got on them as bonsai

I've got a few going as I liked the colour on them, the red tinge looked really cool. Still not sure whether I'll bonsai them or not though. Very easy to strike from cutting, I took a few from my dad's place, and dropped a couple in the sand next to the driveway on the way out... Went back the next week, and the ones I'd dropped had all struck lol Also, if you put it out in full sun, that red tinge will become a lot more prominent
