Hi all just a quick question to the experts...
Was wondering, when branches that have been cut re-shoot (sometimes 3-4 new shoots)
Do you generally just keep 2 and get rid of any others ?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Japanese Maple pruning question ?
Keep only 2 shoots from the new growth
You will get swelling and reverse taper / bulges if you keep more

Re: Japanese Maple pruning question ?
Sorry, also should you always leave the internodes incase there's dieback when pruning back or just cut back to the base of the pair that you want to keep ?
Thanks again

Re: Japanese Maple pruning question ?
If you are tip pruning new growth, then take the middlle shoot right back to the junction. if older wood, then leave a little bit longer to allow dieback.
