Stratification: which fungicide?

Post by Drac0 »

It's suggested to add a fungicide when using stratification to prepare seeds. Just wondering which fungicide others are using & what would be recommended.

Cheers

Hi drac0,

i recently stratified some apple seeds using a coir seed raising mix, i have also heard,of people, using sphagnum moss for this. These substrates have their own anti fungal properties. I forgot, about them in my fridge and checked them by chance a month or so later, the coir held the moisture, there was no fungal outbreak and all seeds had germinated.

I'll leave it for, others to suggest chemical antifungal agents.

cheers,
