Digging Murraya paniculata, any tips?

Been given an opportunity to dig an established Murraya paniculata (Orange Jasmine / Mock Orange) from the garden of a friend of my mothers and was wondering if anyone has any tips to give the plant the best chance of survival.

It has apparently been there for several years & currently stands about 1.5 metres tall. I haven't had a chance to look at the trunk yet, but hoping there is something useful under the green.

Will post a couple of pics before any digging is done - there's a hot week ahead so won't be doing anything until it cools a lot.

Cut back to bare wood. and like everything, keep as much root as practical. Mine had lots of fine roots near the trunk, so not worries about getting enough for me.
They like lots of water and Ferts, but until they are growing well after collection, Seasol every few days

Sadly the one I'm collecting hasn't been too well looked after - not much extra water & very little feeding. So despite being a few years old it hasn't really developed too much, still very stunted for it's age. Nothing like what you had to start with. But there is one thing I have - time to let it develop.

There's a small leaf california mountain lilac (not good for bonsai I believe?) a couple of shrubs over that will be coming out as well, it has the base & structure I would have loved to have found on the murraya!

So giving it a full haircut won't kill it at this time of year? Going to stick it in the biggest grow pot I can find & see if I can get some good growth happening with plenty of sun, food & water. Hoping to get something to really work on later.

Turned up today hoping to dig this one out but very quickly decided it needed a few more weeks. Turns out that last year the owner decided to add mushroom compost to the garden hoping to help it but didn't realise that ONE bag wasn't going to do much over the whole garden!!!!!!

The ground was rock solid. I know I said it hadn't been looked after but this was more than I was expecting! So all I ended up doing was soaking the area with Seasol Super Soil Wetter and Conditioner and will spend the next couple of weeks just making sure it's well watered before trying again...

Wasn't a total loss, found a few interesting things I will post about elsewhere. Need to get some ID's on them.
