Bougainvillea from next door

Post by ADO »

Hi

This is a bougainvillea that two mates and myself from my bonsai workshop dug about a month ago. It is potted in free draining mix and left in full sun.

At the moment its just a stump and there has been no movement on the station regards budding as yet. there is obvious reverse taper thanks mostly to the multiple branches growing out from one area. I figure that when I choose a main leader and cut off the unwanted branches I might be able to rectify this by carving etc.

Hard to know about carving, because they are SO soft and rot out easily

Hi ADO,
Did the tree have any roots left after digging? Did you just water the tree or did you treat it with anything else? Is it still in the pot?

Sorry for all the questions mate. I am asking these because of some thoughts it sparked off when you said it didn't survive. :?: :reading:

Regards Ray
