Really interested to see how you go with this one. It's a nice tree.
Good luck and looking forward to your after pics.

Re: Juniper progression...
here we are after 1 session today, should be almost ready after one more session next week. Idea is to get it right over two years. Today was going in and cutting back un-needed foliage and branches and starting to wire. Next week will be completing the wiring and tackling the apex... urgh.

Re: Juniper progression...
my main problem was a fear of cutting back foliage and branches, and that where I saw one pad, he saw 8 pads... ie more detail, allow in more light

Re: Juniper progression...
I agree that the apex is a bit "full" but lots of options for branch selection. It is good material and will make a nice tree. I find that junipers which are worked regularly will reward you with constant improvement.
I would love to see what you come up with after the rework.

Q: Why are we all here?
A: Because we are not all there.

Re: Juniper progression...
thanks Gerard, here is an updated pic with some work done on the apex. finally starting to make sense. I was always trying to figure out how to shrink the apex down, but couldn't see that we could raise the apex to add more intrigue!
